Anant Raj Board Approves Demerger of Data Centre and Cloud Business

The board of Indian real estate developer Anant Raj Limited has given its approval for a strategic demerger, carving out its data centre and cloud services operations into a new, independently listed entity. The new company will be named Ashok Cloud Pvt. Ltd., and it is poised to become a dedicated player in the digital infrastructure and cloud services sector.

Under the proposed arrangement, Anant Raj will first consolidate all its existing data centre and cloud-related ventures and assets under a single operational unit. Following this initial phase of consolidation, these digital infrastructure holdings will then be spun off and transferred into Ashok Cloud Pvt. Ltd., establishing it as a distinct and focused enterprise.

This significant restructuring is perceived as a move to unlock enhanced value for shareholders and provide a more specialised growth path for both the parent company and the new digital arm. By creating a dedicated entity, Ashok Cloud will be better positioned to attract specific investments and management focus, crucial for capitalising on India's rapidly expanding digital economy and increasing demand for robust cloud infrastructure.

The independent listing of Ashok Cloud Pvt. Ltd. on stock exchanges is expected to allow it to pursue its growth strategies with greater agility and access to capital markets tailored for the technology sector. Simultaneously, it enables Anant Raj Limited to sharpen its focus on its core real estate development business, streamlining operations and potentially enhancing overall market valuation for both entities.
