Authorities confirmed that the city had come under what was described as a ballistic missile assault, prompting residents to rush to shelters.

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko took to social media to inform citizens about the ongoing “ballistic missile attack” and later confirmed that at least one person had sustained injuries in the strikes. Emergency services were swiftly deployed to assess damage and provide assistance, though the full extent of the impact was still being determined.

This latest barrage underscores the persistent threat faced by Ukrainian cities, particularly the capital, nearly two years into the ongoing conflict. Despite robust air defence systems, Russian forces have continued to target critical infrastructure and and urban centres, leading to widespread destruction and civilian casualties.
