Manipur Electoral Roll Revision: Nearly 1.6 Lakh Voters Deleted

Manipur's electoral landscape is undergoing a significant update with the release of the draft Special Summary Revision (SIR) 2026. This revision has identified a substantial number of electors for deletion from the state's voter rolls. The Election Commission's initiative aims to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the upcoming electoral process.

Specifically, a total of 1,58,677 voters have been marked for removal from the draft rolls. This considerable figure highlights the ongoing efforts to cleanse the electoral database of duplicate entries, deceased voters, or those who have relocated. The public now has an opportunity to scrutinise these deletions.

Such revisions are a critical component of maintaining a robust democratic system, particularly in states like Manipur, where electoral transparency is paramount. Search options include using a voter's name, their Electors Photo Identity Card (EPIC) number, the name of a related person, or the specific polling booth.
