PM Modi Highlights Transformative Progress in Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh Post Article 370 Abrogation

Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently highlighted the profound transformation occurring in the Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. He attributed this notable progress to the abrogation of Article 370 and Article 35A, characterising it as the dawn of a new era for the region.

Addressing a public gathering, the Prime Minister emphasised that the constitutional changes have paved the way for unprecedented development. This includes a marked increase in infrastructure projects and the creation of new avenues for economic growth and employment for local residents, fostering a sense of optimism regarding the future trajectory of these territories.

Furthermore, Mr. Modi pointed out that the repeal of the special provisions has extended full constitutional rights and empowerment to sections of the population previously disenfranchised. Women and various marginalised communities in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh are now experiencing greater inclusion and access to opportunities, aligning them with the broader national framework of rights and entitlements.

The Prime Minister reiterated his vision of peace and progress for the region. He stated that the current phase marks a significant departure from the past, ushering in an environment conducive to stability and holistic development across both Union Territories. This ongoing transformation is viewed as crucial for integrating the region more fully into the national mainstream.
