U.S. Imposes 10% Tariffs on Indian Goods Citing Forced Labour Concerns

The United States has imposed a 10% import duty on various goods originating from India, citing concerns over alleged forced labour practices. This move, announced by the U.S. Trade Representative, will impact Indian exports to America, potentially affecting several sectors of the Indian economy. U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer confirmed the imposition of these tariffs on July 24.
