US Condemns China's 'Aggressive' Actions Against Philippine Navy in South China Sea

The United States has strongly criticised what it termed "dangerous and aggressive" actions by China in the disputed South China Sea, following an incident involving Chinese personnel and the Philippine Navy. The confrontation, which reportedly took place on Monday, resulted in injuries to a Filipino sailor, further escalating tensions in the strategically vital waterway.

The alleged clash occurred near the Second Thomas Shoal, an area claimed by both Beijing and Manila. Washington’s condemnation highlights its ongoing concern over China's increasing assertiveness in the region, which has led to frequent stand-offs with other claimant nations. The incident underscores the fragility of peace and stability in the South China Sea.
