Assam Floods Claim 21 Lives in a Day, Total Toll Rises to 31

Assam's devastating flood situation intensified dramatically on July 21, recording 21 fatalities within a single day. This alarming surge pushed the overall death toll from the ongoing deluge to 31 across the state. The renewed onslaught of heavy rainfall and rising water levels has caused widespread distress in the region.

The deteriorating conditions have affected a staggering 5.65 lakh (565,000) individuals across 16 districts. This significant worsening followed a brief period of respite, highlighting the unpredictable and severe nature of the monsoon season in Assam.
