CBI probe into the NEET paper leak reveals an alleged ₹5 lakh payment to an NTA paper-setter, with 111 questions reportedly matching the exam.

CBI Uncovers Key Details in NEET Paper Leak Investigation
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has reportedly uncovered significant details in its ongoing probe into the alleged irregularities surrounding the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG) 2024. The agency claims that a sum of ₹5 lakh was allegedly paid to an individual identified as a paper-setter for the National Testing Agency (NTA), with a staggering 111 questions from the examination found to be a match.
A crucial breakthrough in the investigation involves the recovery of a mobile phone belonging to the alleged paper-setter, identified as Motegaonkar. Inside the device, investigators reportedly found 36 images, including five duplicates, containing 132 handwritten questions related to Chemistry. Out of these, 111 questions are said to have directly corresponded with those appearing in the actual NEET-UG examination.
This development further intensifies the scrutiny on the integrity of the national medical entrance examination, which has been embroiled in controversy since its results were declared. The alleged financial transaction of ₹5 lakh to an NTA-affiliated individual points to a potential organised network involved in compromising the sanctity of the crucial test for aspiring medical students across the country.
The CBI's findings underscore the gravity of the situation and the challenges faced by examination authorities in ensuring fair and transparent processes. The agency continues its extensive investigation, aiming to unravel the full extent of the leak and identify all individuals involved in this alleged scam that has impacted lakhs of students.
